introducing the world to international talent such as Yuridia, Yahir, Cynthia Rodríguez, Víctor García, Napoleón, Giovanna, Carlos Rivera, Nadia, Johnny Sigal, Paolo Ragone, and Esmerlada Ugalde, among others

Los Angeles, CA. June 29, 2011 – After ten years of being the most successful Spanish-language musical reality show in Mexico, the
United States, and Latin America, La Academia 2011 returns this year looking for the next international musical sensation and invites
Spanish-speaking performers between the ages of 15 and 40 to audition at the massive United States Casting Call running the entire
month of July through August 6 in Dallas, San Antonio, Chicago, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York.
Over the course of the last decade, La Academia has become a virtual factory of musical talent, launching the careers of such internationally
known stars as top-selling singer Yuridia; talented singer and actor Yahir; the beautiful and charming Cynthia Rodríguez; Nadia, whose album
was nominated for a best-album Grammy in the Mexican regional category; as well as Giovanna, Esmeralda Ugalde, Erasmo Catarino, Johnny
Sigal, Paolo Ragone, Napoleón, and many other stars who have gone on to find success in music, theater, and television.
That is why Azteca America, which is committed to promoting positive values through projects that inspire and promote family unity, celebrates ten
years of La Academia, the successful and influential musical reality show. Ten classes have graduated from the academy, including the U.S. version,
and its alumni include over 220 young people who have found success in the world of music, theater, and television.
So if you are between the ages of 15 and 40, you dream of becoming a star shining brightly on a stage and can sing, dance or play an
instrument, this is your opportunity to become the next musical sensation!
• Must be between the ages of 15 and 40
• Must speak Spanish
• Must be able to sing, dance, or play an instrument
• Must have the appropriate and necessary documents to travel to Mexico (valid passport, legal residency, American citizenship, and/or necessary visa)
• Bring two (2) 4” x 6” photographs: one (1) full-body shot and one (1) taken from above the waist
• Minors must have a parent or legal guardian sign a letter authorizing their participation in this program and must travel with the participant to Mexico City in the event the minor is selected
