August 24, Los Angeles, CA – Azteca America was the most watched channel in the Los Angeles area last Saturday and Sunday during broadcasts of the Mexican soccer matches Cruz Azul vs. Tijuana on Saturday and Puebla vs. Pumas on Sunday, further consolidating its commitment to the Latin community who are looking for the best option in quality entertainment and original content in the United States.
On Saturday at 3:30 pm PDT, Azteca America had no match in the Los Angeles area, beating its competitor Univision 15 to 1 in audience numbers. During the broadcast of the soccer game, Azteca America even beat out local affiliates of English-language television networks such as Fox, NBC, and ABC, among others.
The trend continued on Sunday with the Puebla vs. Pumas match, during which viewership was 19 times higher than the Telefutura network and more than double the number of viewers for Univision and Telemundo.
